Permatex® 1 Minute Gel Epoxy

Features and Benefits:

Permatex® General Purpose 1 Minute Gel Epoxy is a fast setting, two-part adhesive and filler system specially formulated with a Blue Dye Indicator that disappears when it’s fully mixed and ready to use. The advanced gel formulation reduces mess and waste compared to traditional epoxies; unique indicator system takes the guesswork out of “ready to use”.

DIRECTIONS:
PROTECT: Work area must be protected from accidental spills.
CLEAN: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease and oil.
PREPARE: Roughen smooth surfaces (using abrasives or sandpaper).
OPEN PACKAGE: Remove Syringe. Turn syringe nozzle end up and pull plunger back slightly (1/8”). Allow air bubbles to rise to top. Snap off and save storage cap. Push plunger to dispense equal amounts of hardener and resin onto discard-able surface such as a piece of cardboard. Mixing paddle will pop out from plunger. Pull back plunger to stop flow. Snap cap back on.
MIX QUICKLY: Quickly and thoroughly mix until blue colour turns clear (about 15 sec).
APPLICATION: Apply small amount of mixture to both surfaces and assemble parts immediately (product sets in approximately 60 seconds). Remove any excess epoxy immediately.
CURE TIME: Usable strength is reached in 1 hour at 72ºF (22ºC).Cooler temperatures may require longer set time.
CLEAN-UP: Attach nozzle cap and store in moulded tray.
NOTE: Adhesive will not bond most polyethylene or polypropylene plastics.

Permatex® 2 Ton Epoxy

NOTE: Will not bond to polyethylene or polypropylene plastics. This epoxy product is recommended for indoor use only, as the cured epoxy can yellow and darken when exposed to sunlight and the elements.

Permatex® Anaerobic Flange Sealant

Features and Benefits:

Flexible, gasketing material for use on rigid machined flanges with less than .015″ gap. OEM approved – use where OE’s specify “anaerobic” gasket (cures in the absence of air). Withstands temperatures to 300°F (149°C). Eliminates preformed, pre-cut, paper, rubber and cork gaskets. Flexes with flanges that move in service.

OEM specified. Noncorrosive gasketing material designed primarily for use on aluminum, iron, and steel flanged mating surfaces. Ideal for on-the-spot and emergency repairs, or when a conventional gasket is unavailable. Fills gaps up to .015″ and cures to a solvent-resistant seal that will not tear or decay during service. Permatex® Automatic Transmission RTV Gasket Maker

Features and Benefits:

OEM specified. Developed with U.S. automotive OEMs and complies with extended warranty requirements. It resists aging, weathering and thermal cycling without hardening, shrinking or cracking. Benefits include improved transmission oil resistance, good adhesion while retaining flexibility, sensor-safe, noncorrosive and can be used as a gasket maker or dressing. Nonflammable, nontoxic, low odor.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a residue-free solvent, such as Permatex® Brake and Parts Cleaner.
  2. Cut nozzle to desired bead size – gaskets are best formed using a 1/16″ to 1/4″ (2 to 6 mm) bead.
  3. Apply a continuous and even bead of silicone to one surface; surround all bolt holes. Assemble parts immediately. Finger tighten bolts until material begins to squeeze out around flange. Allow to cure for one hour then retighten 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
  4. For best results, allow to cure overnight.
  5. Replace cap after use. Clean hands with dry cloth or Permatex® Fast Orange® Hand Cleaner. Clean tools with non-flammable cleaning fluid.

NOTE: Not recommended for use on head gaskets or parts in contact with gasoline.

Permatex® Aviation Form-A-Gasket® No. 3 Sealant Liquid

Features and Benefits:

Slow-drying, non-hardening brush-top sealant approved for use in aviation as well as automotive applications. Temperature range -65°F to 400°F (-54°C to 204°C); resists gasoline, oil and grease.

DIRECTIONS:

Use brush to apply a thin, even coat to each surface. Allow to air-dry a fewminutes before fastening the parts into position. If thinning is necessary, add 188 proof denatured alcohol. DIRECTIONS:

Shake well. Attach extension tube. While engine is running, spray lightly on inner working surface of belt near smallest or upper most pulley. Allow belt to run for several minutes to condition and cure dressing. Reapply as needed. Do not spray on pulleys.

Permatex® Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant

Features and Benefits:

Low odour formula! General-purpose, black RTV indoor/outdoor sealant. Seals, bonds, repairs, mends and secures glass, metal, plastics, fabric, vinyl, weather stripping and vinyl tops. Protects and repairs electrical wiring. May be applied to horizontal or vertical surfaces. Waterproof and flexible. Temperature range -59°C to 232°C (-75°F to 450°F); resists water, weather, and vibration.

 

DIRECTIONS:

  • Clean and dry all surfaces.
  • Cut nozzle to desired bead size, apply to one surface and assemble immediately.
  • Surfaces being bonded may need clamping for 1 hour or until silicone is firm.
  • Silicone”skins” and becomes tack free in one hour. Allow 24 hours for full cure and maximum strength under normal conditions. Allow more time in cold or very dry conditions.Trim excess with a sharp knife after cure. Most paint will not adhere to silicone. Surfaces should be painted first, then sealed.
  • Clean uncured silicone from hands, tools and clothing with Fast Orange® Hand Cleaner.
